This entry was "Original Art, not done by Owner, 1900-1950." Apparently this set was painted by a little girl's aunt and presented to her as a gift. The doll's name is Miss Philadelphia. Norene Allen is the lucky owner of this unique blue-ribbon set.
This entry did not win a ribbon but it was really the most exciting thing that I saw at the entire convention. This is original artwork done by Louise Rumley who did so many beautiful baby and children sets for Merrill. Judy Johnson is the lucky owner of this treasure! And she also had the paper doll book displayed that these babies eventually appeared in. Thanks so much for sharing, Judy.
This blue-ribbon entry is from the collection of Diana Lax. The category was "Die Cut Scrap in Sheet Form."
This lovely paper doll is from the collection of Jan McKay. It was entered in the category "Babies and Children--Uncut," 1900-1960. Another blue ribbon entry!
"Ballet Girl and Costumes" was a blue ribbon winner from the collection of Peggy Ell. The category was "Newspaper Non-Comic Strip Paper Doll." It's dated August 21, 1898!
This Tuck paper doll comes from the collection of Diane Schumpert. The category was Tuck Paper Dolls. The name of the paper doll is Dear Dorothy and it was another blue ribbon winner.
